With the aim of cultivating future generations in the art world, - KENZAN2015 – will be held over a ten-day period in July.
“KENZAN” has been held nine times in the past as “Yubi,” a predecessor group exhibition from art university students. Thereafter, a group of young artists, representing the future of the art world and comprising current and former art university students across various affiliations and genres sought their own forum for exchange and presentation, and the name was changed with the aim of creating an art-oriented environment. This year’s - KENZAN 2015 – marks the fourth event in this format, which receives heightened interest from the art world and collectors each time it is held.
This year, the exhibition will be split into a first and second half so that approximately 300 works from more than 150 exhibiting artists can be shown in a more visible way. Until now Tower Hall Funabori has served as the event venue, and this marks the first time the exhibition will be held in the city center. With the opportunity for exposure to even more visitors, we can look forward to the artists putting their most challenging works on display.
